Speed six Radiator fan experts

Just noticed my radiator fans are not working at all !!

Checked the fuses and swapped over relays but no joy

Hows this system work, i take it the coolant sensor brings them on
so i may have a dud sensor or two

Also tried removing the relay which should bring the fans
on permanatly , but still not working

would be great if some one can explain how it all works......Gary

Check the connections as these can corrode - happened on mine to the 2nd fan and stopped it working!

Might be the ECU water temperature sensor - mine fails about every year. Easy DIY job - about half an hour. It's not expensive, so I always have a spare ready.

I had this problem a few years ago - corroded terminal on the water temperature sensor. Had the sensor replaced and heat shrunk insulation over the connector to protect it, as water/condensation runs down the cable onto the connector otherwise (hence the corrosion).

All fixed and tested it was the sensor conection corroded...thanks guys

A good tip i found was to unplug the coolant sensor (L/H side of the engine block under air filter)
this will make both fans cut in straight away and is a great way of testing the wiring and fans...
