T350 Door/ Window Fault

Hey Guys, Hoping someone can help.

The problem is with the passanger door, when you push the button from the outside or inside of the car to open the door the window normally drops down a few mm's and then the door pops open. But all thats happen in my case is that the door is trying to open but the window is still in the channel preventing it to open unless the window is down before I open the door,

Anyone know how to fix it? No problems with the drivers door.

Hi Nick,

first thing that comes to my mind: Did you try to swap the door ECUs? This way you can at least find out, if it's the door's or the ECU's fault.

No I havint tried that yet, do you know were they are located, and what they looklike? I was thinking it was probably going to be something like that.

Oh any ideas what a new one would cost?

Door ECUs located in driver and passenger footwells, usually just in front of the door hinges. Small black box, slightly bigger than a box of fags & will say "Door ECU" on it.
Unplug them & swap them around and see if the problem moves to the other door. If the box is knackered, I think TVR power do them for about £90.

Might be the micro switch in the door. Easy to test. Does the interior light come on with the door open or if you open the door with the engine running do you get the 'error code 15' LH door open? if the answer is no; the arm on the switch may have moved or is knackered. Its under the plate on the door behind the lock (remove torx bolts) if you actuate the switch manualy and the window moves it needs re-positioning, if not bridge the switch out see if the window moves if it does you need a new switch. RS sell them for about a tenner.

Any ideas which microswitch it is on RS.com? I had a look but wasn't keen on buying without checking that it would actually fit in the same space envelope as the old one!

Part# is 83-186 with 1" flat arm, made by crouzet (Third one down on the list of 5). I used the arm off the old switch as its slightly longer and glued a foam block on the end of the leaver to help actuate the switch when the door closes
