Hi all,
Been looking into buying a TVR T350c for a little while, I haven't driven one yet but I have just decided I want one. Origanally started looking for a Cerbera but now more funds have become available I have decided on the T350c. I have a budget of around £18k but I owuld ratehr pay less for one and a little money in reserve incase something should go wrong. I know of couple of people that have paid 20k+ and then still needed some major work doing despite having the car inspected etc. So this is the way I would like to go. So realistically looking to pay around £16k I realise this wont get me the mintest example, but I think I can still get a good one. Anyway, been looking at a few, this one more recently:

I have spoken to a couple of well regarded people with experience in TVR bodywork and spraying, and the price for the parts required and fitting is about right. But the cost for a respray, just down one side is going to be around 2.5k. The cost of the paint/laquer/primer is near on £1000! Thats probably why he isn't repairing it himself. Adding up the costs it going the end up around the £17k mark (assuming there is no chassis damage, and also assuming it wont need a replacement carpet or passenger seat, as it looks a bit suspicious to me. Does anyone have experience of him?

This one looks good but carries a condition inspected stigma, and the wheels are obviously a very personal choice.

This one seems to have been on the market for a long time, and I remember it was for sale at Tony Gilbert for months at the same price. Is there anything to know about this one? Haven't Hpi'd it yet but it says it clear.

This one looks good although, I realise there are differing opinions, the rebuild was done by austec. Not heard of anyones engine letting go after a rebuild from them so I guess it would be the same as buying any other T350, although it says it has had a subwoofer fitted (not my cuppa and really dont think the car requires more sounds system, kinda spoils the point of it)
Just want to know if any of these are worth going for or if there are any other cars I am missing. Cheers guys.

hi,to me,the damaged car seems quite expensive,with the amount it would cost to fix it.
personally,i'd go for the silver car with the engine upgrade,only 4000 miles now.
for piece of mind,you can always get someone to check it out for you,there has been other posts with names and their areas on it. good luck with whatever you do.

mine isn't an educated decision sorry mate, his is deffinatly one of the better colour schemes though! I think your right going for a lower priced car though and having spare cash to maintain it, i just have a feeling that would be a nice car! (can i just point out that i don't know jezz at all ay this point,lol)
I'm just doing the research mysef at the moment mate as i think i'm gona get the misse's a deisel soon and go the T350 route myself, and if i was doing it now i think jezz's would definatly be worth a viewing. It hasn't had a rebuild yet which i would be wary about but, when the cars only 16k it would be worth a punt as most engines are rebuilt for more performance as apose to blowing up!

IMO few non-TVR owners realise how well they go and handle, and are put off by 'reliability' myths when in fact the T350's/Sagaris have few issues at all and if they occur are not expensive to fix, compared to Porsche/BMW etc. The current TVR owners are probably out there enjoying their older models before thinking of an upgrade in the Autumn.

Most specialist cars tend to be harder to sell because of the limited market...Does not necessarily mean there is anything wrong with them and when you add the fact that some buyers will be put off with talk of unreliability that just adds the situation....I had a Maserati 3200 which sold with in 2 days of going on Piston Heads my mate had one too which was spotless and it took 10 months sell......limited buyers. The right person will be along for the car I'm sure as it's well priced and looks good.only had 1 person come look at it and he decided to buy a Noble!?!

I was the previous owner of that damaged (write off) T350C in chameleon blue, just posted another topic on it having noticed it on pistonheads this morning (where has it been since Dec 2009, very strange).
The chassis was damaged, roll cage pushed over about 2" and the rear hatch/window did not line up with the bodywork.
Can't understand why they are saying "not recorded" as Admiral declared it a write-off, I signed over the car and then the 3rd party (swift) owned up to the accident and paid Admiral.
Engine, gearbox, interior, sagaris spoiler, TVR Power exhausts etc all in mint condition. Apart from a couple of temp sensors the car was very reliable.
I had thought about buying it back from insurance company myself but x1 expert declared it needed a brand new shell and the other said it could be repaired but wouldn't drive straight, far too dangerous, cost would still be around £6-8K which included parts, labour, spray etc - not worth it when you could get another mint example from a member on here at around £20K.
Hope you get one, they are fantastic! Once I am done with the SLK55 AMG I bought am going to get a segaris.

Cheers for the info buckster. I wonder how it is "not recorded" unless the insurance co sold it off to this guy to scrap it and he hasn't? Not really sure how it works. Anyway really do want one that is in one piece, just wondered if this one would have saved a decent sum. Obviously not. lol.
