Heat Shield

What do people use to help insulate the cabin from heat soak? Had a great run to Manchester and back over the BH but almost melted when stuck in traffic (no air con!!). Normally the roof is off but took the missus with me and she filled the boot with women stuff and a huge stuffed walrus so no room for the roof.

I was thinking of putting a heat reflective foil further up the engine bay to cover the box where the blower motor is housed (as seen on Grahams Sag?)+ some additional layers over the existing material in that area of the engine bay inc over the tunnel round the gearbox in the cabin as there seems to be hot air coming in there too!

I bought sonme of this stuff for my T350. Much cheaper than I could get in the UK. Worked a treat. Bought some aluminium heat tape also. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/THE-13575/

They have loads of heat soak / barrier stuff, and they will ship to the UK.

Seriously though, the only way to survive in hot/humid weather with the roof on is to have the windows down.

Likewise I bought a Tam without a/c, thinking of getting the exhaust headers ceramic coated at some stage to reduce heat soak. Not sure just how much temp reduction this offers though. Anyone done this that can advise?

Ceramic coating exhaust manifolds and decat helps, not really possible to quantify but must improve and worthwhile for other reasons.

My Tamora is currently at Power for a rebuild (4.3l upgarde) and whilst in I am getting the exhaust manifold ceramic coated if I recall correctly Dom reckoned it could reduce cabin temp by 10-15 degrees when I took her down to monaco the heat became almost unbearable

I am picking her up next friday and have a few miles to cover so will let you know how I get on

the paint beside my manifold on the inner wing is starting to flake a bit,obvously due to the heat. what can i use to cover it,ive also been told to put some under the bonnet over the manifold!
can anybody advise me about this and tell me what to use and who can supply it?,thanks.
