Written Off Register

Hi all

Just thinking out loud, following on from a couple of threads here on this forum regarding written off (or very badly damaged) T350's, do the moderators think it would be a good idea to create a written off register?

One of the great things about this forum (and PistonHeads in general) is there are a lot of people willing to help and give advice to those who ask for it (and sometimes those who don't ask ) and I know that if I was looking to buy a car and wanted to check it's history then as well as the standard HPI checks etc I would also post on here (like others do) and ask if anyone else knows about the history of a given car.

So, what do you think? Do you think a Written Off Register is a good idea?

yes,i think it would be a great idea.not just on pistonheads but maybe the tvrcc as well!
im not sure if it would be legal though,maybe someone with more knowledge would confirm this!

edited to say,lifes too short to be sensible,go get that t350.....

I agree that this should be something of great interest to many people. I imagine it would have to be titled a 'damage' register opposed to 'written off' in case of any legalities though.

I have been genuinely scared when looking at Sags and then heard that they have had some very serious accident damage and there is no formal record of it (I dont mind minor damage as the shell is GRP and expect that over time...)

I would like to see this as a sticky at the top of the forum.

I'm sure it would help a lot of people when researching a car prior to purchase.
