Trixman,
How do you know about not being in great nic?
Ive been informed current faults are passenger door not opening and boot latch fault/broken, havent seen it so cant comment on bodywork etc, also fairly early to have a engine rebuild isnt it?
I enquired too, was told about the fact it's in average condition and probably needs some work on scratches, interior feeling old etc.How do you know about not being in great nic?

Very strange for such a young car at 15k that it's a bit suspect that it's clocked/abused. I wasn't told about anything to do with the faults you mentioned though!

Finally decided to go for a t350, still slightly concerned about reliabilty coming from a boxster s and 2 M3's, but im keeping my fingers crossed!
Seen a black t350 in london advertised but want to know if anyone has owned it here before? Reg is WX54 AOL
Thanks in advance
Good luck with your search...I to took the plunge 2 weeks ago adn love the car...can not keep out of it. I came from an M3 CSL and was concerned about the reliabilty but as long as you do all your home work buy as late a car as possible you can get a great car that will not break the bank.....Condition and history is what I would recommend over any thing...and also if you go for a 2004 on they are suppose to be more reliable... Well it's not being advertised on Auto Trader any more either so I guess it's been sold.
I spoke to the seller this morning, I said I was going to arrange for an independent inspection and he said that was fine but the car is with Racing Green at the moment so I would have to get back to him to arrange a time and date.
I guess if the car was a good one, someone has got themselves a bargain! Even if it needed £5k worth of work (which I very much doubt) it was still a good deal.

Do you have anything positive to say about any used TVR advertised??I thought this subforum was about sharing info? I thought the car looked good, so I enquired about it. I could be a dick and not say anything hoping to get a deal myself but instead share any findings.
I've commented on a couple of used cars. One that was damaged severe enough to warrant a whole thread long discussion about it being overpriced, to which I agreed (and even RG adding it in their advert) and another where the actual owner was having problems selling the bloody thing and asked why it wasn't sold. Everyone says 'too expensive/needs something else' to which I agree/d.
To say I have nothing positive to say about any used TVR is just being rude for the sake of it. Maybe you know the sellers of those cars and taking offense? If I thought there wasn't any good one's out there I wouldn't be looking would I.
Just to point out the best, in my very humble opinion and based purely on what I've read here and common sense, offerings in there right now I'd say:
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1240570.htm - for the price it has very low miles, some are asking the same price but with over double the mileage. If it wasn't yellow I'd buy it.
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1085608.htm - good price, 2005 too. Questionable warranty but a form of warranty none-the-less
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1221513.htm - bit green, average price, but would suit someone
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1127647.htm - nice all around
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1216491.htm - If you can live with Cat D and the trouble in reselling, might be worth an offer. Ryan seems like a great guy and really knowledgable, sure the rebuild is to a very high standard.
http://www.tvr-hhc.co.uk/UsedCars/view/161710 - very nice car, owned by malman, if it wasn't for the colour (If you haven't guessed I'm being very specific about the colour) then I'd take a look.
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/807441.htm - 04, 16,000 miles, 20,995. All depends on condition obviously.
OK got bored now. But the point is most in there seem OK. Just not specific to my desires. The one's highlighted are the one's people are asking about, and either nobody is helping or giving any advice, or there's a specific reason they aren't selling.
Trixman. There were only a few hundred T350s made. You seem to be looking for an exact colour/history/age. The car you want may not exist.
The yellow one is an awesome colour - basically the same colour as many recent model lambos come in. The green one is also a great colour - very sexy, it just looks dressed up for a night on the town.
What colour are you looking for?

Would prefer silver/black with low miles (as in low teens) and with the 05 updates. Seen a few around but I've only commented on here about the one's in question. The one at Dream Machines looks good, I was supposed to view this weekend but something came up. If it's good I may buy. I'd prefer a targa though but can do without it. Just not keen on green and it's my unlucky colour. Being a designer the colour combo is a big deal. The yellow one is an awesome colour - basically the same colour as many recent model lambos come in. There's plenty in the classifieds that suit my needs, but while I have a month or so to look around and choose I can afford to be choosy.
(ETA: I'm not a fan of yellow, but would still consider it if my friend hadn't just bought a yellow sag!)

1. My short sentance wasn't a comment it was a question hence the question marks after the sentance.
2. I did not say you had nothing good to say about TVRs so I would prefer if you did not misquote me and then describe me as rude based on the misquote.
You seem to have an opinion, based purely on your postings of course, that suggests many of the cars advertised at the moment are either overpriced, in poor or only average condition, been around for too long so there must be something wrong with them or the lastest inference, that they have not been looked after because they are not owned by an enthusiast. You are even dissmisive in your description of some of the cars above but you may not see that, I do as do some sellers that have exchanged views.
For info, I have no attachment to any of the cars or owners currently for sale that you have passed comment on or otherwise, I'm just a punter like everyone else.
I do try to be helpful on here, but that usually involves exchange of views at some point. My next post was going to be on the lines of how many cars have you been to actually view and drive, and what is your benchmark for condition and price - is it a realsitic expectation based upon what you've seen. How do you gauge an honest warranty and is it worth the extra, does the commfort blanket of a dealer purchase help?...........however.. with such a rant after trying to open the discussion, I realise help is not always required, esepcially with one so well researched.

Good luck with your search, and I hope you find the car you are looking for at the price you feel is fair to pay, but I supect you will find that for nice well loooked after good spec cars its not such a straight foward buyers market with very limited run cars, but I'm sure you know that.

The other 2 cars are the 2 that have popped up that are very, very cheap. I enquired about them, didn't get a good feeling, and shared my view with another guy who was looking at it too.
I don't think that can be considered 'many' of the cars advertised as there's around 25 in there now.
I don't really see how that is a misquote, I said comment instead of question but the infliction was there regardless. I've seen close up, as in inspected, around 5 cars but only driven one. Seen plenty more obviously over the years otherwise I wouldn't be looking to buy one.
If your question wasn't meant in the manner that I took it then I apologise for the defensive rant.

With regards to the £15k black T350, I also enquired about this car and was told that the reason it was taken off Autotrader is not because it's been sold but because it's not actually available to test drive at the moment.
No doubt when it comes back on we can all have a look at it.
I actually agree with Trixman, colour is very important. All these T350's will drive nicely and no doubt put a huge smile on my face but ultimately if I'm going to spend over £20k on something there's no point in making a compromise.
I want to get a buzz every time I see it on my drive.
In fact I'm actually even fussier than him because I don't like the targa model. Spoils the line of the car imo.
If anyone knows of some miraculous way of converting the roof back to it's original form I'd be very interested to hear about it.

At least I'm open to a few colours. I'd be happy with Black, Blue, Orange, Purple, Yellow, Dark Green and Dark Red.
It's not that hard to find a coupe in these colours, easier than you think.
I almost bought one in Arancio Atlas Orange a few months ago but it failed it's healthcheck.
I almost bought a purple one 2 weeks ago but someone beat me to it. I test drove it but the owner wouldn't wait a few days for me to healthcheck and sold it to someone else. Maybe he was trying to hide something...?

Maybe he just wanted to sell it and spend the cash on something else
Having said that, I wouldnt buy a T350 WITHOUT an independent health check.....but that's just my paranoia and nothing to do with TVR's.....I spent money on a healthcheck on a 2006 BMW.....when it was 6 months old!
