Warranty - does it add value to the car

When I purchased my T350T I decided against renewing the warranty that was on the car and decided to fall back on my savings if anything catastrophic happened. So far, I've been lucky with what has needed to be done to the car, most of which wouldn't have been covered by a warranty.

I'm curious as to what people think of cars without warranties? Does it affect the value of the car? Do you steer clear, even though its been well looked after?

I personally do not think that a warranty adds any value to a car but it does add piece of mind.

I bought my T350C with a warranty and I was new to TVR so wanted the piece of mind despite researching for 12 months prior, however a warranty really would not figure on my next purchase as I know more about the cars and have also had experience of the warranty companies trying to scramble out of everything.

To me, the question is simple... If you want piece of mind then go for it but dont expect it to add any value to the car, and overall you are much better off having a back-up fund and unless you are unlucky save ~£1500/yr in the process

I think if you are the nervous type then backing by a solid, good, knowledgeable dealer is worth more than any piece of paper with the word Warranty on it.

The warranty certainly helped sell my T350!

I think that was mainly due to the face I sold it to a newcomer to TVR's.
It just gives them that little bit of peace of mind
