Fuel pipe question.

Had a slight fuel leak from feed pipe to back end of fuel rail,thought it was just copper washers but its actualy coming from were the metal union pushes into the plastic pipe.I have cut the end of the pipe to release the union,replaced the o ring on the union and trimmed back the pipe.Now does anyone know best way to get union back on pipe?I have tried boiling water and gently heating tube,but could not get it to go in.Thanks in advance for any info.Regards,Steve.
