FRONT TYRE WEAR TAMORA OR T350 - SAG ?

hi all,

i was looking at the front tyre wear on my tamora today and could see that there was alot of wear on both of the outer and inner edges to both tyres the middle was fine
this would suggest to me that i need to put a few more pounds pressure in to the tyres to get more even wear ?
now at the moment i'm running 24 psi on all tyres reccomended by most tvr owners for the last two years and it handles well at this pressure

so should i increase the fronts to say 27 psi and leave the rears to 24 psi ?
anyone had the same issue , any advice please

A geo set up would be a good idea.

Are you sure you have 24psi in them I would check the pressures with a few different gauges just to be sure, If the pressure is right try 25psi might make the difference

geo set up is ok pressure checked with two gauges

the wear is on both edges of each front tyre so its not tracking as that would be on one edge normaly

Do you set your tyre pressure when hot or cold? 24psi when hot will be 20-21 when cold. My old T1-S's had started to go on both edges as well as starting to crack with age. geo was OK too it was checked at the service a couple of weeks ago.

i just want to find out if other people that have done over say 8,000 miles at 24 psi on a set of tyres if they are starting to see how the wear is going for them ?

its not a problem for me 24 psi ! but its giving me all the signs that because of the weight of the engine 24 psi is to soft at the front to keep even wear ?

I just replaced my fronts. After 22,500 miles! The central Goodyear F1 stylee grooves were still pretty meaty, but the edges were heading for kojak country. No big deal after that many miles IMO. 24 PSI btw.

I had my good year f1s on the rear replaced with similar symptoms. Got fair amount of miles out of them so wasnt too concerned. 24psi to!

Likewise, Targarama and FrancoTam. If you drive in a spirited manner on occasion and you corner at speed (on track for instance) there is a good chance you will wear the outer edges of the tyre more than the central section. I'm not going to try to work out the physics behind this but when I changed my tyres some time ago (at Micheldever I think) the guy who did it could pretty accurately descibe how I drive by looking at my tyres.
I normally use 24 all round too, though I have experimented over the years.

Do you have your own pressure gauge or do you use the one on the compressor at the garage? The modern digital air compressors are reasonably accurate but the older ones with the analogue gauge get chucked around / dropped and read all over the place... I've known them to be as much as 4psi out - perhaps this accounts for your under-inflation issues?

no ive got my own digital pressure gauge , old type gauge and a gauge on my foot pump i've got to many gauges lol
i'm going to put 26 psi in the fronts and see how that goes if the ride is to hard i'll go back to 24 psi

Still on the original fronts on our 2005 T350 with plenty of tread left on last inspection! We've covered over 25k miles on them.

Only wish I could say the same about our Alfa 147; goes through front tyres at a silly rate and we've had the setup checked numerous times. Apparently just 'one of those things'!

We had tyres under warranty on our 147GTA. 10,000 miles and down to canvas. Requested a geo check at the dealers and it was all over the place and the reason for the not consistant tyre wear. The geo is not checked by the dealers form the factory or at service it appaers......... good old Alfa, 10 grand engines in 30 bob cars with a dealer network to suit the car....
