T350 info

Hi all,

I was watching an old episode of topgear the other day, and while I dont take anything they say seriously, richard hammond was testing a T350c and it was 03 car, with the boot recess and sun visors. He said they tested one when it first came out (52 plate) and tvr "hadn't got it quite right" and it was a handful to drive.

My question is why would a 52 plate car (as they were selling them from then) handle worse than an 03-onwards car? It seems that all that was changed in the later models, was the glovebox, sunvisors added, boot recess added etc. Nothing to the suspension etc.

Anyone know?

I take your point as I doubt much would have changed between the earlier model tested and the one Hammond drove. I imagine the earlier car wasn't set up properly in terms of geometry, damoers & springs etc or maybe they put better components of the baove on the second car ?

I doubt if any 2 TVRs even of the same model handle the same

I know the geometery makes a big difference, but he made a point of saying tvr have "been back to the drawing board" Just curious to know if they changed anything underneath as most people say its just superficial things. Only curious as I'm looking to buy a T350 soon and its 52 plate. Dont really want to buy a car thats going to be a liability in the corners. Otherwise il look for an 03 onwards car.

I'm pretty sure he was referring to a car that appeared during the first series. In that episode a pre-production T350 was brought down to the TG track for some handling development. Hammon & Stig drove the car on the track & road with a few different set ups.

Agreed. That car wasn't quite production ready.

Oh right, just confused me that it was on a 52 plate. It was green/blue reflex paint (swordfish?) if anyone remembers it? Glad to know ones sold to customers didn't have iffy handling
