Improving ride comfort...

Hi,

I`ve been getting more complains from the OH that the Sagaris ride quality is making her feel unwell (my love of the over-run doesn`t help that situation and some poor quality irish roads)

Is there much that can be done to improve the ride quality?

Would raising the car up a bit help with this?

Obviously leaving her at home is the correct response to her complaints but any help would be appreciated

Mine was complaining about exactly the same thing. So I leave her behind when I go on a hoon. If she wants comfort, get a porker. If you want excitement, stay with the Sag.

She knows there's not a chance the Sag is going anywhere, but to justify the odd bill its always good to pander to her needs the odd time

my better half never complains - she asked me the other day how we could get it to turn in better.

We had our Sag raised 25mm or so a couple of years ago.Made no difference to ride quality

at all.But it does'nt ground out at the rear nearly so often now !

james,i'll lend you the elise to take her out in for a while,she'll think shes gone to heaven when she gets back into the sagaris!
i think the quality of the roads over here has a lot to answer for,with pheonix gas,the main culprit.

This may sound really stupid but I think this is what makes me feel a little fuzzy when out in my dads, When at lights or at a really slow speed all you can see out of the passenger side of the windscreen is a blur, rather like when you come from a night out, and after being in a traffic jam or a set of lights it feels like I’ve been straining at a monitor for a couple of hours with that faint fuzzy/headache feeling. It’s caused by the heat haze as just in front of the passenger windscreen is a vent from the exhaust manifold. It is nowhere near as bad driver’s side.

I don’t get fuzzy in any other car driven anyway. Next time out ask her to look out of the side window when you are not moving in traffic to see if she feels better?

I drove out the A20 last night to Newtownards, my god what a terrble road for a dual carriage way - feels like most of the top surface left 5 years ago!

I have to get someone to take her out in a Elise or a VX220, like you say, she'll realise how loud cats eye's can be

I know someone is working with a well known suspension manufacturer on an electrically adjustable platform for TVR's. Bit like the Lambo's that can raise the car to clear sleeping policeman, but with different settings for comfort etc.

getting the pot holes filled in would make a hell of a difference! Anyone driven around Canary Wharf recently....jeeessshh...

get aftermarket suspensio, from someone like Nitron, tell them what you want to achieve and they will sort you out with the spring rates/damping accordingly

but I do have to say, turning a sag into a luxury limo ride quality wise, it may be worth just getting a new car or a new partner whos not so fussy about what she rides LOL
