Just wanted to give a big thumbs-up

to JP Exhausts in Macclesfield who have just sorted me out with a lovely custom exhaust for the T350. The quality of these guys work is top class and really impressed with their work, especially as I took one of their standard JP boxes off for this one.

The new system consists of bigger bore pipes from the cats all the way to the new and bigger bore backbox with a straight through design, apparently the optimum for 350-450bhp. It has been tested static at 98 dba at 4000-4500 rpm which means it is track day friendly but sounds very aggresive when you put your foot on the loud pedal.
I now have a standard JP exhaust to fit a T350 sitting in the garage if anyone would like to PM me.

Looks lovely and the rolled tips remind me of the Janspeed I fitted to my Mk1 shedscort back in the day.
I'd be interested in hearing this system as it may suit my needs too. I've avoided all the 'sports' options as
1. I dislike the chav sound effects this gives (my opinion)
2. I don't want too much noise for motorway cruising
I do want a little more noise, but I'm not a fan of pops/bangs/flames/farts etc.

I think you will honestly be very impressed by this system as it ticks all the boxes above...I'd be interested in hearing this system as it may suit my needs too. I've avoided all the 'sports' options as

Sounds like a good system they've made up, but personally I think the original exhaust design with the tips sticking so far out of the bodywork looks amateurish and spoils the lines of the car. Having a bigger bore system from the cats back is good but if you want to release more power you'll need bigger headers (S spec) and a de-cat. You mention straight-through design and a larger back box - I thought you couldn't have one with the other unless by straight-through you mean they have somehow re-routed the pipework leading to the back box ?.

Sorry my exhaust knowledge is zero - JP had the car for a week and ran various different configurations to achieve the optimum flow rate for 350-450bhp. On a standard car any power increase will be minimum (as always) but apparently with the T350 it is pointless doing trick bits to the engine as the standard exhaust and other bolt-on backboxes are very restrictive.Edited by s5tvr on Thursday 3rd December 13:29
Probably best to speak to JP/ACT as I am only relaying their info...
I really like the fact the exhaust sticks out (not as much as standard though thankfully) but all personal preference I guess.

Have you noticed any difference in how the car drives with the new system? My Tamora's due at JP for something similar (although I don't run any cats).
As mentioned above I wasnt looking for more power but the new exhaust definitely has smoothed out a couple of areas where there was slight hesitation previously. There wasnt time to properly sort the flows etc.. using a rolling road but that also wasnt the original aim.The guys are great and did mention that they were doing a Tamora in Jan
The exhaust system from the factory on the T350 is known to be restrictive (based on various PH threads) but to gain max benefit from your new system you'll need to get the car re-mapped. I think it might be possible that the new exhaust could make your engine run lean which is not a good thing on the SP6 - hence get the car re-mapped.

Yup, the Tamora's mine. There's even talk of sports cats, so we'll have to see how that goes too. I'm not really bothered how it sounds but I'd just like to make up for the non-Red Rose exhausts. The JP chaps did the full system on my Mondeo ST220 and it's a lovely piece of kit - so if the TVR pipes are as well made everyone should be happy.
