T350 HID conversion?

Whilst the car is being repaired I'm tempted to upgrade the headlights to HID. Am I correct in thinking that:

a) the best option is 35w, 6000K?
b) it's only really necessary to do the dipped beam and not the main?
c) whatever is fitted, the only way to prevent the dash LEDs turning off is to turn the headlights on before starting the engine?

Lastly, any suggestions about where's best to buy from?

Speak to Greg at TVR Powers body shop, they do a good conversion with additional wiring loom relays etc so that everything works normally.

Good, I'm glad someone seems to have solved this. I might get this done.

IMO you only need them on dipped beam, but it is personal choice.

I am very intrigued to learn what the solution is as I have 5000k hids fitted to the dipped beam and do experience the problem with having to ensure the lights are switched on before the ignition, along with poor radio reception.

Having said that it really is not a major issue and being able to see at night outweighs the slight issues... I wonder if digital ballasts help?

I had HID's fitted to the Sagaris dipped beams by Matt at Silverstone performace nearly 5 years ago without any problems what so ever

So I can recommend going there.

are you just talking about the bulbs here? i would really like some better lights on the '350, sometimes, they're not all that...

I enquired with Matt at SP about the hid kits that he sells but he said there was no way on a tvr that he could guarantee the kit wouldn't cause problems. It seems they are fine on some and not on others...

I'd love to be able to try a number of different ballasts to see if analogue or digital actually make a difference but I don't have the time or inclination to do so added to the cost. Plus the drawbacks that I suffer from really aren't that bad and I have lived with them for 2 years.
