Decatted T350/Tam daily driver
Discussion
Does anyone here use their decatted T350/Tam everyday as their sole transport? I'm keepin the standard back box as I don't want it too loud and will need to be track legal noise wise; but want to take the cats out to prevent any chassis damage from heat and also reduce underbonnet temps. The extra pops and bangs will be a welcome by-product!
I'm gona start using it as my sole transport as the weather (I'm hoping!) is starting to improve, but will I end up with bleeding ears and splitting headaches!

After 43k I can't say I've noticed any chassis damage - and its had a lot of cleaning this month. I also hadn't realised decatting reduced under bonnet temps. Is it by a noticable amount? Now, that would be nice and might help save on replacement near side engines mounts - I'm now on my 4thI don't have any damage my chassis is perfect but I've seen how it can get damaged on earlier cars I've seen and with all the track days/sprints/hill climbs I plan every little helps! Cats get ALOT hotter than the rest of an exhaust system (they need to, to function correctly) and as they sit right by the engine all the heat is absorbed under the bonnet. I also hate catalytic convertors but that's another story!
Your other option is to have a word with JP Exhausts / ACT to see when they will be selling the new exhaust they developed on mine. It is track day compliant but sounds much better than standard, with ample pops and bangs, and sounds awesome above 3k rpm.
It's much easier to live with day to day than the standard JP but still let's all know your in a tvr. The pipes are replaced from cats back and their new backbox is fitted. The tailpipes look much better than standard also.
