T350 rear badge & boot opener

My rear badge is looking awful as all the chrome on the curved edges is flaking off - a common problem I believe. Any idea where I can get another or how I can tidy it up?
Also - is it easy to remove and refit?

Get it refurbed, I got one from racing green and it's started to come off already, hasn't even been on a year!

Very easy. Inside the little boot compartment you will find it's attached by two long threaded posts with 10mmm (iirc) bolts. Undo those & off it pops. Be careful to catch the washers off the back inside the car, & the spacer off the underside of the badge outside the car (the bit which pushes the boot release switch). Use a dab of Uhu or similar to hold the spacer back in the right place when you replace the badge. Job done.

I refurbished the old badges on my T350 several years ago and the are still looking like new....here are a few pictures.

The old badges where firstly cleaned up, then I had them zinc coated to stop any further corrosion, then they where powder coated. They are not as shiny as the original chrome ones, but now they look similar to the finish on the spiders.

Now that looks a good idea. Is it expensive getting them zinc coated and then powder coated? Also where do you get this done and what colour code is the powder coat? Sorry if these are obvious questions.
Also, how does the model part of the badge separate from the oval base?

It's a doddle to remove / refit the rear badge - exactly as per the post above.

I bought a badge from a guy on here a couple of years ago which was beautifully made for around £40 and still looks perfect. If you're interested I'll try and find out who it was - otherwise someone might be along in a bit with a spare one.

I got mine from RG too but then when fitting it I buggered up the boot release connection!
