vague/twitchy steering on a tam

on my private road when i exceed 100 odd steering seems to go very light and doesnt inspire confidence. im only a week into owning it so not sure if this fairly norm or should it be looked at? the handling at normal speeds is superb so not sure what to make of it.

What car? What tyres? What pressures are you running the tyres at? (the correct answer is 24-25 PSI).

Funbobby, think you have my old Tam there, the handling was spot on with the 16" spiders, is it on 18" spiders now? might just need the geo set up, good to see it back in Herts! try to get along to the next Herts/Beds meet on 21st March

oh really thats interesting if yr a previous owner, yes just had new 18s on it so perhaps a set up is all that is needed? how long did you have it then? i got it from james agger been very pleased with it so far. its got toyos all round.

Mine felt the same until I had the geo done on the 12k service that sorted it out.

Funbobby, reg end's in UU? i bought it from Fernhurst's for 28k in Feb 05 with 2k miles, and traded it in at the Tvr Centre Barnet in March 07 at 26k miles, spent a small fortune (read warranty) sorting out the 'niggles' should be well sorted by now!

The 18" spiders will probaly need some fine geo tuning, plenty of expertise available at the Herts/Beds meet, and an extended drive in this month, long way round naturally!

yes tamster thats the one, good to hear from a previous owner. was the rebuild done under your ownership then? fortunatly it was covered by a warrenty! you certainly did a few miles in it i see. loving the car few little odds and ends to do but james agger stuff seems to be pretty good.
