Battery location

Hi,

Can someone tell me what stops the battery from moving vertically?

I have the small clamp at the edge of the chassis rail which holds the battery in place but it can still move vertically which I don't think it should.

It just does not seem secure enough.

The clamp should sit on top of the plastic lip at the bottom of the battery.

There's one on either side of the battery, when properly assembled there's no chance of the battery moving anywhere!

Maybe the battery he has does not have these hold-down lips. I have seen batteries without them in the past.

block of wood on mine. 'Shimmed' up so it fits tight. As Targ' says not all batteries have the lips and some are the wrong size or shape

Thanks for the replies.

The battery fitted in mine does not have the lips on the side hence the reason that the battery can lift.

Just have to work out how to hold it in place or replace it.
