Battery is flat as a mat

Noticed that I had left the boot ajar so this must have drained the battery.

What puzzels me is that it wont trickle charge through the cig lighter connector which has been working fine.

Looking at the battery charge point under the car, which is pos and which is neg ?

I've just refurbed mine as it was full of crap hopefully yours is ok?
On mine the metal pins are facing to the outside and the pos is towards the front.

Thanks for the info Barry, but the battery is still not charging, so I guess it's an AA call because I have home start cover.

It's all sorted thanks to the AA.

The battery level was about 2.4v which was below the charging threshold, so he had to take the wheel off and connect a mega charger directly to the battery. Then after about half an hours charge it was able to trickle charge then.

Thing is we set up a mobile phone on record and put the phone in the boot to see if the boot interior light stayed on when lid was ajar, and yes it did. In fact the light stayed on until the boot lid was very firmly shut. Something to watch out for when you close the boot.

I have had my boot light disconected since I bought the car for this very reason as the light is not really needed but can ruin your day quite easily.

Great Idea Barry, I will definately follow suite and disconnect mine

This is a lesson learnt for me
