Goodbye to the Chim

Said goodby to my Chim of 5 years at the weekend. Now the search is on for my next TVR.
I am looking for a Tamora or a 350t but thers does not appear to be much out there.
Is there any other sites that I should keep my eye out for? or is there anyone out there thinking of selling
Blue would be nice with cream interior and low mileage on a 04-05 plate.

Hi Chris, There aren't so many cars available these days. As with your Chimaera, most TVR owners keep them for a good few years. The usual car advertising places such as Auto Trader won't provide many other options and as you'll know the TVR car club doesn't get many of these offered. I think that pistonhead classifieds really are your best chance of finding one. This is the only place where i'm advertising my T350t at the moment and its the only place i will expect to find its replacement.

Sorry, just couldn't resist. Although I suspect it needs a new clutch.


Here and the TVRCC are probably best places to look, assuming you want to buy private.

Hi Chris, my uncle used to own a T350C and he bought it from Racing Green and he said they were fantastic throughout the process of purchasing and maintenance, he thought that there customer service was excellent. He also looked at a Tamora as they represent excellent value as they tend to be cheaper to buy than a T350C but he decided to take the plunge and purchased a Grey with Red interior T350C.

Thanks for that I new this was going to be a long drawn out affair and I Know I will have to travel when the write one comes along But by it hurts when I open the garage door and there is nothing there.

If you let people know your budget/colour preferences age and milage you could get someone to sell theirs that's not in the classifieds

I'm on the lookout for a nice T350C, must be a C. Have browsed over the ad for the laser blue one at Kerridges in the classifieds. Looks nice but not too sure about the colour and its at the top or in fact just over my budget. I'd maybe like an older one which as had a recent engine rebuild if possible.
I guess most hold on to them afterwards though to get use out of the expense!

Thats a very nice car and owned by a PHer (can't remember his name now). Laser blue is a stunning colour though, prices also are just asking - remember you can make an offer.

If you look at most T350 adverts you'll see theres not actually that many for sale with a rebuild which should tell you something about the engines - especially mid 2004 onwards.
Out of interest why not a T? When I bought mine I was adament I wanted a C but found my current car and fell in love with it. I'd never go back to coupe now.

Thanks for that Zippee. As others have said previously with C or T it's more looks really. I have a classic Tuscan at the moment and had Chimaeras before. I liked driving with the hood up on the Chimaera, felt like a GT. It's nice to get the roof off on a sunny day but I've always been in to GT cars. Historic GT racing- Low Drag E Types, GTO's, Daytona Cobras. I think the T350C is the best looking modern version of these cars. More so than modern Astons, Ferraris and Jags etc.

Make sure you can handle Laser Blue as it is undoubtedly the fastest colour!
