washing the sag

I apologise for the basic questions of late!

I am wanting to wash the sag but am worried about the water and soap etc getting into the engine bay iwth the gaps....now simple question for some1 but what are the dos and donts of washing the sag in relation to this?

Yep - water does get onto the engine bay, but only goes on the oily bits so no worries.
All the electrics are well enough hidden or covered up.

so no jet washing i take it? or can you but be careful not to scoosh it straight into the engine bay?? lol

Jet wash no problem - just make sure not at a 90 degree angle to the paintwork or you might strip your paintwork off

Don't aim at getting the water into the engine bay but a little won't harm

Don't point the jet lance at the light cluster seals or any other 'sealed' parts. Best just to 'dust' the water over the car.

Don't really see the point in jet washing.

Doesn't take long to go over with a mitt and a bucket. And you won't get any splash back from a bucket and sponge!

Jet washes are great for getting tiny bits of stone and grit off the car before they are massaged into your paintwork with the wash mitt.

To avoid faint 'cobwebbing' swirls building up on our relatively soft paintwork, you do need to use 2-bucket washing, with high quality wax shampoo like Dodo Juice that suspends all grit/dust particles so much better than 'Halfrauds' alternatives. Used this ever since respray a year ago, with Dodo wax every 3mths and stil no swirls this time after 12k miles

Yep - me too.Its well worth the effort learning how to wash a car properly (as daft as it sounds).

Esp when you have a colour like yours!
