Stalling when hot

Got a bit of a problem with the T350 whereby during (or restarting after) a decent run (i.e. fully up to temperature) in warmish weather it will suddenly experience a loss of power which can't just be cleared with a blip of the throttle - the only cure is to switch off and on again. Once this is done it's fine.

First happened last year when sitting in traffic in 30 deg heat; when I pulled away something felt wrong, it sort of 'chugged', then revs fell to 500 and then died. Restarted - no problem.

It's been happening more recently and is becoming more of an annoyance!

Any ideas?

Possibly the fuel pressure regulator. May need changing.

Bomb, is this something that you had to do on yours? Only I've been reliably informed it's highly unlikely to be the FPR.

The problem seems to be getting worse in the hot weather. For example yesterday I filled up with petrol (5 min drive from cold to the station, oil temp 46deg when I switched off) and it didn't run right when I restarted. Had to switch off and try again. Not so bad when it's stationary, but sometimes you can be half a mile down the road and suddenly feel the loss of power, hear it running rough struggling for revs, before grinding to a halt!

Anyone had this before??

Graham,

Yes, it's booked in for major service in three weeks' time.

Throttle bodies were however checked and adjusted at last minor service, as I requested after the problem first appeared last summer. Unfortunately the problem has persisted since then!
