Day 3, First niggle.

Day 3 of my life as a TVR driver and I've hit my first niggle...
If I drive over any bumps or drive down a bumpy country lane the catches on the rear of the passenger side Targa top pops open... first time it did I nearly pooped myself.. it's really loud when it does it..
Anyone know how to fix this?

I might give that a try.. take the panel off and re-fit it, see if it helps..
Hit niggle 2 yesterday... Can't open petrol filler cap.. almost ran out of petrol on the way home and now it's stuck in the garage with nothing in it and no way to open the filler cap.. When I bought the car the handle that opens the filler cap was broken off (I assume it was like that when you had it). HHC had a wrench attached to the bolt as a temporary fix while they source a part (I was keen to get driving so said that was Ok and they would fix it when the part turned up), however that's now not working as it's shredded what little of the bolt there is left. HHC have had problems getting a replacement but hopefully they are getting it in on Tuesday.. Just need to find a way of getting the Tiv to Hexham from Consett.

Maybe you should sell up and buy a Kia. The first niggle was just the roof needing reseating and the second was there when you picked the car up, so its a fault that you knew about when you bought the car.Hit niggle 2 yesterday... Yeh the Petrol Cap was like that for years. I had a small pair of mole grips on the valve shaft and left them clipped on all the time (tight on the shaft), never had any problems opening it that way. Always meant to get it fixed!!
Has the shaft snapped off now? If not get another small pair of mole grips and use them until the new part comes! Make sure the mole grips are a nice tight fit on the stem.

Shaft has worn away now so nothing to grip onto.. I've managed to get it open with a different set of grips.. but if I close it again it will never open.. HHC are getitng the part Tuesday (hopefully) so I can wait until then to use the car.. At least I can get petrol in it to get it there

I dont know how it would have worn away already, the threads might have gone but that doesnt stop you fitting a set of mole grips with a good set of teeth on to the shaft. If there is a stem still there you will manage to get mole grips to work.
I dont think it would be a good idea to drive with the fuel cap open.
Try again with another pair of mole grips and make sure they clamp on nice and hard, really squeeze them!! They should sit on the stem by them selves.

Glad you've got it open. I suggest taping over the hole once you've refuelled, otherwise all kinds of things could get in there.
