Replacing T350 number plates - advice required

Hello All,

The old number plates for my T350 are looking the worse for wear after several years on the originals and the recent winter (water ingress / warped) and I would like to change.

1. Can anyone reccomend a good website for ordering new plates?

Rear currently has screws through it and would like to change to cleaner lines and stick on via body side only.

2. what adhesive pads have people used so it doesn't dissapear off when driving down the road?!

I have also seen quite a few people with a 'sticker type' front plate that wraps flush around the body rather than traditional flat plate that extrudes from the body.

3. Where can I get one from?
4. Will it be legal if the correct size?

Much appreciate any help from Pistonheaders who have already done it before!

Came with plates when I changed mine.

Got mine from a local signwriter advertising on eBay

NO, but technically neither are many production cars. Plates should be flat and perpendicular to road, many production cars are not if you look carefully.
But if font is correct chances of being stopped are probalby low

The front stick plates are not legal apparantly, I believe there are details on the vehicle licensing website. I am sure someone will provide a link.

I got mine from Halfrauds, I was initally concerned about the branding logos that have to be placed on them to comply with legalities.
However I asked to see the logo before purchase and it was tiny and in white, it really is far superior to all the others you get from motor factors etc.

You can order plates from websites but they are classed as "display plates", I think it gets around the issue of supplying logbook, driving license etc, but cant be sure.

At the end of the day it comes down to how bothered the police and mot testers are to enforce it.
Just look around at the t**ts who move letters and numbers around in attempt to spell something; there are loads and I have yet to see in my local area any of them corrected.

Try www.fancyplates.com for numberplates.

You can buy stickers from Halfords, just stick some extra on to keep the plate from falling off.

As for the front plate/sticker option, the nosecone is curved in all directions so IMO a stick-on plate would look awful.

The front isn't too curved and IMHO stick ones look much better than screwed on flat plates (which still curve) and dont fit at all well.
If the size and font is correct they are significntly "less" illegal than some things you see driving around.

I've got the front sticker on mine.. looks MUCH better.. not had the car long (only a week) but on my first run out I drove past about 10 police cars and none of them seemed to be bothered about it.

Stick-on fronts can look terrific.

My front number plate is a work of art - someone has moulded a standard plastic number plate to the bonnet countours - hope I never have to remove it though as I recon it's glued on!
