OK, car arrived yesterday and looks very nice, but it isn't in perfect condition. So, I'd like to rebuilt the engine - step by step, as I don't have a lot of money at the moment.
There are a lot of rust and corrosion spots, so I think starting with does zinc plated parts (mentioned in Grahams WM) would be good.
How should I begin?

Rebuild the engine?! Do you mean the finish is the engine components is not as good as you'd like (polished/shiney/clean etc.)??There are a lot of rust and corrosion spots, so I think starting with does zinc plated parts (mentioned in Grahams WM) would be good.

I don't want to do an engine rebuilt like the older TVRs, I just want to make it looking good and newer. So, I want to start changing a few parts from the engine, like bolts, hoses and shells, the pipe, which goes around on the front of the engine, ...
All in all, I'd like to have an engine, which looks like Grahams in his manual! :-)

You start like I did on your rust removal activity and replacing all the rusty bits.
The power stirring pump cradle looks like the paint haa peeled off. Its easy to remove the cradle without removing the pump, paint and replace
The window washer bottle bracket can be loosened and painted in situ.
Replace rusty screws with stainless equivalents and new jubulee clips
In side the car remove the aluminium pedal box cover, a previous water leak on mine had caused the pedal box bracketry to rust. It can be painted in situ if your careful.
Back in the engine unclip the cable running round the water pipe across the engine front and polish up the pipe with fine emery cloth or a scouring pad.
All the aluuminum bits will polish up with Mequires metal cleaner
check the screws on the front splitters holding them on to the body and replace with stainless equvalents. These can rust up and shear off like one of mine did. if ever you smack the splitters on a kirb then they will need to come off.
rear exhaust cover panel bolts will also be rusty.
It can be quite rewarding for the tinkerer and you can improve the appearance. An engine out gives the best option but I am not doing that until necessary
