Pressure in me tank

So last couple of times I have filled up, there has been serious pressure in my fuel tank. Only just open the flap and it pukes what fuel is left all over the forecourt ! Even just cracking the flap open (oooerr missus) it carrys on pushing out fuel for at least a minute or two.

It has always had a little bit of pressure there as normal, and slowly opening the flap has always dealt with it fine. Anyone else had anything similar ? Could it be a blocked vent/breather ?

I had this exact problem the other day..the only thing I did different was fill it up FULL, possible over-filled it.

I have some pressure release when I open the fuel cap, but no discharge of fuel - (Sagaris)

Actually time before last I did brim fill it.

I have the same problem - I just leave the tank open a tiny bit (not visible). Some fuel will spill while driving, if the tank is completely filled. But otherwise the pressure will build up very high; even resulting in petrol smell inside the car.

Driving in Paris traffic pressure was so high that I heard metal bend when carefully releasing the pressure by openening the tank.

I talked to Jason (Str8Six) about the problem and he thinks that it might be the roll-over valve that needs replacing - will have it done on the next service (next year - I've lived with the current solution for three years now).

I get the same problem when I accidentally overfill it, something thats getting easier to do with these new fuel nozzles that will only fit a very short way into the filler.
Another issue I find is that if I do overfill then for that one and several after my guage reads 10 lt less than full straight away (ie/42 lt instead of 52). Takes a few fill ups to sort that out!

Why the heck TVR sent it out with no proper breather I'll never know!

Would some one please explain where this pressure comes from. Removing fuel from a tank with no breather should

produce lower pressure?

Has anyone fitted an additional breather like this ?

Does it aid filling ?
