Just test drove a T350

And.... WOW!
Fantasic. O couldn't stop smiling.
Must admit I didn't in anyway push the car at all but I didn't need to feel the excitment! The noise and sense of occasion is just something else.
Did feel a bit of a noob though, the clutch takes some getting used to, I was a bit juddery (is juddery even a word)
Was really tempted to leave s deposit but a couple of things held me back. 1 - I'm waiting to receive a cheque before I'll have enough money to buy the car and not sure when it's coming.
2 - on the one of the front lights you could see some water marks on the black plastic, the other one was fine so looked a bit odd. There was also some flaking around the black tape around the light and side windows.
When I looked at others in tbd garage they didn't look as bad.
Am I being picky? Should I just accept it as one of those quirks that all TVR's have?
Oh another thing, the car I drive had the luggage cover but not the sun visors, are these important?

I'd be a bit more worried about the clutch from what you say. The clutches I've had in 3 Speed six cars have all been very light and very smooth.Fantasic. O couldn't stop smiling.

CLUTCH! That's not right. One of the real improvements made with the T-cars was just how easy they are to drive when you are doing it gently.
I'd forgive the water marks, if I've understood correctly; leaky covers aren't uncommon and can be fixed.
The sun visors are as much use as tits on fish.

A few minor cosmetic points which can be rectified should be weighed up against the provenance and condition of the rest of the car. The side windows and light clusters can be removed and resealed solving this cosmetic problem.
From what I understand this car wants for nothing. It is also sitting at a TVR specialist, someone who knows these cars inside out. There hasn't been half a dozen sale people 'taking it for a spin' and thrashing it when cold. Also the after-sales of a place like Str8Six needs to be factored in.

I have no worries with the mechanical side of things, I trust str8six 100%.
The car was fine when they drove it and I was a passanger but I wasn't do smooth.
It will just take some getting used to on my part. I've never driven anything like this so I was very cautious.
I wish I could have taken her away, I really fancy a drive in her this evening.

Found the clutch fine, but boy the throttle is sensitive, going to take me awhile to learn to hold the rev's at 1000k after cold start. Ps when you do open it up you'll smile even more, they go pretty well. I'm a massive TVR fan and beleive you should never meet your hero's but I can proudly say it did not dissapoint my massive expectations!!!!

The throttle should be the easiest of the pedals as it has such long travel. You just need to actually plant the throttle instead of tickling it like a nancy boy. Then hold tight and see what happens when it passes 3,500rpm. Remember this is not a turbo charged car.
The clutch is pretty easy to master once you're used to the pedal being floor hinged, I'm sure that won't be a problem for long.

I would not compare a t350 with a suped up family hatchback.
I feel your enthusiasm, I remember the day I picked up mine like it was yesterday.
I had Jclarkson ringing in my ears and on the way home, the passenger footwell carpet fell down and the car stank of glue.
I had to chuckle, I was now a proud owner of a TVR!
Set your shift light quite low, I started with mine at 6.5 thousand revs. this is still enough to make mince meat out of most things you will venture across.
I am sure st8six will help you out with all this anyway. get out there and enjoy it!

Sounds like a good car that only needs a bit of cosmetics to it, at the end of the day I wouldn't shy away from it as you know what it needs to make it right for you so either factor that into the price offered or maybe ask Str8 to sort it for you?
Did you see my little baby there? Have a look at the moulds around my lights, they are shocking! They have even started to crack, need to get that sorted with the front end re-spray when I can bare to be without her for a while

Didn't see you P&J but saw Tagamaras. Looked fantastic, the colour looks so much better in the flesh than on pics.
They have a Sag there under wraps. Was told it's supercharged and for sale at.... £80k
str8six also have a copper green t350 for sale. Loads of money spent on it but the interior just doesn't do it for me really.
How big a job a taking the silencer off and just having straight thru pipes?
