Had a good look at it at Kerridges yesterday, seems nice - but I'm no TVR expert!

Any thoughts or comments?

There don't seem to be many later cars for sale - all seem to be 2004 and 2003 cars - so this is priced slightly more, but nothing to compare it against.

Seems in good condition, and I found photos of it at the Essex TVR meets - so it was enthusiast owned.

Is it 'their' car or up for sale on behalf of someone else? If the latter then that someone else makes the final call. Personally I'd never pay full price even if the seller is reading this post. Holding out for full price on £27k secondhand sports car in a recession takes deep pockets.

Why not just save 5-6 grand and buy a decent late 2004 instead?
After 2004 there were only a tiny handful made so it's very rare for them to come up for sale and they aren't necesarily better than earlier cars. IMHO too many people get hung up on buying the latest they can find rather than the best they can find!

If I was looking to spend that sort of money I'd chuck another 8-10k at it and buy a Sag. In 5 years time I rekon the Sag will be worth more and the T350 20k

The only 2 bits I didn't like about the car were the delaminating rear windows and some crap inside the headlights but I'm told this is common and not an easy fix. Is that the case?

It is pretty common, it is not that hard to fix but requires some skill and possibly new windows/covers. Sometimes painting is required depending on whether the paint is on top of the sealant or not. If you're paying top price then IMO this kind of thing should be A1.

They say they will fix the windows and the headlights now - so it will be pretty much A1.

Still don't want to move on price, but I still think the car is overvalued by a couple of thousand, or at least doesn't hold that value to me.

Well it's up for £26,995 - I think £25,000 is about right, allowing for the dealer premium over private, later car, condition, mileage isn't actually massively low when it's the same as many examples several years older.

It has been about 18 months if I recall since the last service, but only a few thousand miles. When IIRC it's 12k miles or 12 months, I don't imagine it's that much of a problem, but it's not ideal.

Seals and gaskets can dry out if a car is not used so check these carefully. IMHO a service should be carried our every 6k OR 12 months, whichever occurs soonest.

Just get the service and a fresh MOT as part of the deal. That way any loose bits get bolted back on.

Kerridges do that with every car anyway.

I've spoken to them, so have the next few days while I'm in Le Mans to think about it all!
