New Owner - T350

Hi Guys...
Well i'm now officially a TVR owner! A lovely Red Bull Blue T350c. Took delivery from str8six at 8pm last night and completed the hour and half trip home!
To say i was nervous is quite an understatement but got used to it once i got going.
Had a few admiring looks on the way home, also got tailgated a few times a little annoying.
Had my first warning beep... low fuel
The computer couldnt make its mind up how much i had at one point i was at 3l then it went up to 8l??? I was a little nervous so stopped for fuel at the first chance i could.
Whilst queing to pay, a couple of customers were looking out of the window saying how nice she was. I couldn't stop grinning!
Got home around half 10 last night and had to park her in a garage. Now my garage is not the widest in the world nor is it well lit and is on a slight incline. Coupled with the fact it was dark, reversing in was quite difficult. I need to get used to the side mirrors as they seem to magnify everything - not sure i like this.
But all in all, i'm very happy with my new purchase - Just need a bit of time to get used to her.

Had mine four years and have done 38,000 miles and it sill causes me to grin.
You'll have less trouble (and have more fun) if you use it regularly.

I will be posting pics shortly. There was no point last night as by the time i got in in was dark.
Need to work out how to actually post pics as ive never done it before. Can i take pics on my iphone and then post them?
The T350 is my only car so will use it at evenings and weekends when needed. I travel to work via train during the weekdays.

Glad you are happy with the car. No, I've never had any problems with the mirrors, they simply show what is behind with no magnification that I am aware of. Perhaps you have some different mirror glass? The rear haunches stick out and you can see them in the mirror, perhaps they're causing an optical illusion in your mind?
Oh, a bit late I know but fill the car slowly otherwise it will spit in your face.

- Squeeze the trigger a little bit and let it trickle in
- Wipe up any spills
Nozzle in as far as it will go and DO NOT press the trigger any more than half way. You will get a feel for whats right. I tend to stop every 10 litres or so and remove the nozzle to clear any back pressure.
First click - stop filling, if you carry on it will over fill and not stop pissing out due to the vacuum created.
Basically its a PITA but a necessary evil.

I tend to grab a bit of tissue paper from the station's roll, put it over the opening and open the filler. It rarely spits any out at this time, but better safe than sorry. Then fill slowly, approx 50% of max trigger. If it clicks off wait a second and put more in. Once the litre total gets near your estimated amount to get to 50L in the tank and it clicks off do not put any more fuel in - your chances of it spitting back are very high and its just not worth it for a few litres IMO.Regarding the fill up procedure, I assume:

I've not had a spill in a long long time, but I probably take longer than needed. Doesn't worry me, there are no many cars that look cooler when being refuelled
I was advised by Jason to fill her up slowly and also not to put your face near the fuel "cap" when pulling the lever. Also not to fill it to the brim as it vents back into the engine and will cause it to flood.
If you turn the fuel hose 45deg it also goes it a little bit further so reduces it spilling/spitting.
As for the mirrors, only the right one seems to magnify? Maybe it is just me but both the left and rear mirrors are fine.
Another thing, quite minor really but when i press the button to open the door the glass drops but the door doesnt open enough. I have to press the button again and get my fingers in the seems and open it? I can get the door open it just takes a couple of button presses.

common problem - starting to happen on mine. The door was working fine when i test drove her and when i picked her up. I get her home and she starts playing up! Oh well typical moody cow i suppose

I'm going to set up a savings account and put away £250 of my hard earned each month for the service / repairs / tyres / insurance / tax costs for the year. Hopefully that should cover it all.

Another thing, quite minor really but when i press the button to open the door the glass drops but the door doesnt open enough. I have to press the button again and get my fingers in the seems and open it? I can get the door open it just takes a couple of button presses.

Not a shame at all, the roads are so much quieter! I sincerely do hope they get to the final and then the roads will be all mine for 90 minutes Was looking forward to this evening as when England play it means even better driving conditions; however,it is P***ing down so a no go I am afraid.
