"Front Knock Sense" ??

Have been having a pootle round under the bonnet and have found an unattached plug on the top, front of the engine with the above written on the wire that leads to it?

Awaiting the arrival of Graham's tome, so....

1. What is it?
2. Where should it go?
3. Is it causing a problem? Car is running sweetly, so I'm guessing not.

All info greatly appreciated.

I think the "Loom" is of a Vauxhall Omega and some of these connections are spare... This is one of the spare ones, there's about six spare connections which are not used on the SP6 , I have the same on my Sp6 Cerbera.

The loom's were fitted with knock sensors and cam shaft position sensors, for future development, never got round to it though!
