Tamora Bonnet Badge

Removed and peeled off the silver backing to refurb. Anyone possibly know where one can obtain a similar material ? Cheers.

If you have the metal badge mounts, you can do what I did and simply use some wet and dry (P1200, P2000, P3000) and WD40 to bring the metal up to a pretty nice shine. Degrease and seal with some lacquer round the edges and Bob's your uncle! It's not as shiny as the chrome overlay used, but it seems to last much better.

Al - Cheers for the tips but this is a plastic oval badge that's placed in the recess in the front of the bonnet. It's backed with a very thin adhesive mirrored film for the Silver look. If I could find some I can refurb the old one. Have a new one on order too.

How are you finding the Tam compared to a Cerbie ?

Ah, you have the plastic variant. Hmm, you could try some chrome spray paint, but I'm not sure how good the finish would be, nor how long it would last.

Al - cheers. I'll check out craft shops etc and try to find a similar replacement though it may take a while, but there must be something out there.

Dale - For me the Tamora is so much easier to live with compared to the Cerbera. Journeys in the Cerb were tiring, but journeys in the Tam are consistantly great fun and I feel I've had a rewarding driving experience from it every time. I also much prefer a shorter car for going around corners too, which the Tam delivers. I'll get slated for saying it but it's also a relief to be able to use 95 octane, with fuel consumption being noticably less as well. My old Cerb is still a lovely car though and someone is enjoying it somewhere I hope. Are you thinking of changing then ?

How about silver foil tape, may be possible to fix on with out showing creases as it will give a little.
