Tamora wheel sizes

Just an idle question as I'm bit bored this afternoon. Were the 18" wheels an option from new and what's the difference in handling between the two sizes ?

16" spiders were std on the early cars, not sure about the run outs towards the end. Cost was about £1000 + VAT for the 'option'. I guess the ride got a little more harsh and the turn circle got worse, but overall they look better and set the car off with a more agressive stance than 16"

My Tamora originally had 16" spiders, so I changed these to 18" spiders. With the 18" spiders I noticed the ride was firmer and the turning circle was poorer, but the 18" spiders look better than the 16" one's. The ride got better when I changed the shocks to Nitrons with Eibach springs. Some say that the 16" are better for track use but I didn't see any deficiencies in the 18" on a recent track day. Glad I change my spiders to 18"
