Before someone says 'search on it', I've tried several times but either my laptop is fooked or the search facility isn't doing what it should!
Simple question; Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrics vs Toyo R1Rs? New tyre time (probably sticking with standard sizes) and just looking at the most appropriate brands. I've had the Toyos suggested but as I've always liked the old F1s I wondered if there is any first hand experience of the new ones on here.

Just recently had Asymmetrics fitted to the front, with GSD3s on the rear. Got to say that, although they're not properly worn in yet I quite like them. Yet to test them in the wet but other than that they're looking good so far.
I had considered the R1Rs but couldn't find any locally so ended up with the Eagles.

How does the R1R feel compared to the F1 Assy? I'd imagine the R1R behaves a lot more like a track tyre in that it needs some heat and will wear quick quickly in comparison?The F1's are a very good tyre but the R1R is not a direct comparison.

I read alot about them online before buying and also spoke to Alan the TOYO rep who's opinion I value.
My mate also put them on his Tam and he's an ex sprinter so knows his stuff.
I have no doubts they will wear quicker than F1's after all the wear rate is 140 compared to 260 for the f1's but not as bad as 888's which are 100

Personally I see the R1R as the perfect tyre for the car after all it's a high performance car & I want high performance tyres. I dont see F1's as high performance tyres I'd put them on my diesel mondeo which is currenty running pilot sport2's you get the idea?
As for how long they last I rekon 2 years and any tyre has gone way past it's best and gone hard.
These apparent excellent low milage cars with origonal tyres must be like drivng around on solid tyres.

but it's not practical for me time or money wise, so I do most of my fun driving on fast roads where the limitations of the road and my skills are way under that of the car - and hopefully the F1s.So, at about 15k miles per year, I think I'll be looking at the Goodyears.
Although I am totally consistent in my inconsistency so may change at the last moment!
