Water temp sensor to dash - where is it?

I'm getting a water sensor error occasionally on my dash as well as erratic temp readings - ie/ 1 day stable 89-90 deg, next day flitting wildly between 98 and 110 - so I'm guessing the sensor has decided to go a bit spastic on me now and again.

Where is this one located? I believe it's the same type of sensor used for oil pressure (which I've changed before), is that right?

Could also be an airlock possibly? I had something similar when I had a tiny water leak...

Anyway, in answer to your question, apparently both the POD and ECU sensors are under the airbox.

Hi Mark (got your e-mail BTW - just not had time to reply)

Do you know which position the dash sender is under the air box? I know the oil pressure sender is a bugger to get to and tucked away behind the metal oil pipe.

An airlock had occured to me but she does run fine at times - I'd have thought an air lock would cause a problem each time? I'll run her up to temp with the cap off anyway to purge any air out just in case.

I am having exactly the same problem with mine at the moment. I have a new sensor ordered - just waiting on it arriving. If you take the top section off your air box (two spring clips one side - one spring clip on the under side and two bolts to remove) its then the front (nearest the nose) sensor. I am fairly sure your correct in saying its the same as the oil one. Hope this helps. Shane..

Does sound like a small air lock or slightly short of coolant.

If you're going to replace the sensors i would replace both as shown on picture about £70 for both.

One sensor for pod and other one for rad.

Try venting the rad first maybe airlock as said.
