Servicing - South West

Hi all,

I'm based in Bristol and am looking to get hold of my first TVR after many years saving / looking and it will most likely be a T350. There's a T350 being sold privately that I've been looking at, but the handbook shows it was due a serice in January this year (it's been used very little the last 6 months). Obviously I'd like it serviced before buying.

I've had a search online but can't find anyone spacialising in TVR servicing in Bristol. Can anyone tell where the closest (and recommended) TVR people are to Bristol?

In addition to a service, is an RAC / AA check worthwhile on these cars or will the service pretty much cover it. My main area of concern is the engine (reducing the odds of buying a car that needs a rebuild).

Richard Smith at Dulford Automotive is your man.

Always had my T350 serviced by Richard, he used to be part of Peninsular TVR and is a top chap.

Dont know a great deal about any independents in Bristol, but you have got Peninsula in Exeter (I think) and another ex-TVR main dealer over in Malmsbury, I believe there is also someone in the Chepstow area, but I'm not completely certain about that. As far as checking for potential engine issues, if you search on here you will find some "experts" that offer an inspection service, but make sure you read all the comments as, some people have been very happy with the inspection service, while others have not! I bought my T350C just over 4 years ago and I've loved every minute! It is a completely different driving experience.

Forza West in Chepstow gets my vote. Stuart's a nice chap, knows his stuff and is priced very reasonably for servicing. Been using him for a while now and very happy with the service. Only 20 mins door to door from Bradley Stoke!

As you're Bristol-based you'll have to get along to one of the TVRCC Bristol runs; really friendly bunch (as GrantT350T will attest to!) and some great runs! Hopefully see you there sometime so we can get the T350 count up!
