T350 - What mods have you had done?
Discussion
Just interested to see what people have had done and if they would recommend them.
Looking through the receipts on my car i can i see that i've had a couple, racing reds have been installed as well as a modified expansion tank.
Not sure if they have improved things as the car already came with these installed and have not driven a standard T350 before.
I'm getting the following done in the next week...
Powder coated engine
Getting sagaris fins installed in the air vents
De-catting the exhaust
On the agenda is a rolling road re-map, maybe a new air box, speaker and stereo mod. Maybe some heat shielding, but depends on how the de-catt reduces cabin temps.
Now over to the floor...

I've had a few things done.
Nitrons with Eibach springs - Greatly improved the handling, much more confidence inspiring now.
Magnecor HT leads.
Powder coated cam cover with carbon plug cover.
Full re-spray.
Power 4.3 engine upgrade - obviously a little quicker, i didn't upgrade the radiator and cooling is no different, all temps are fine.
Upgraded the stereo system - probably the best pound for pound upgrade i have done.
I've no doubt forgotten some stuff, i've also done some minor cosmetic things like SS allen screws in the steering wheel, new gear knob etc.
A new interior is next on the list.
ETA opinions.

I spent over an hour last night adding the blog on my car so you can see whats been done to it and the cost
Having a nice new set of Nitrons (with Eibachs) next month, in the pipeline: Front end re-spray with a bit of body modification, new seats and a bit more Alcantara on the inside.

I think i'm after people's thoughts on the mods they have had done. I would like to know what they had done and if it improved the cars performance or general running?
Obviously an engine upgrade will improve performance, but did you get an alloy rad too to help cooling or did racing reds / nitrons improce the handling, did an air box improve performance etc...
Equally im after people's thoughtson mods they have done that hasnt really improved the car at all.

Have just checked out your blog - Works out you have spent nearly £400 a month to maintain and upgrade her

Noticed you re-mapped her twice - once after the engine upgrade, which is fair enough but then you re-mapped her again some time after, why was that?

I've done the follwoing to mine;
JP backbox - no performance increase but the noise is
Racing Red shocks - a vast improvement over standard but I think I may go for some slightly harder springs.
Ferodo DS2500 brake pads - so much more feel and power under braking with no squeal or fade.
Ally rad - No difference at all in running temps but hopefully will last longer than the OEM part.

Forget the stereo, once you're de-catted you'll just want to hear the exhaust. Save the hi-fi for the house or family wagon. Looking through the receipts on my car i can i see that i've had a couple, racing reds have been installed as well as a modified expansion tank.

Only had the car over a month (Tam).
It came with GAZ Gold's, last owner didn't know.
JP exhaust.
Oil breather.
On my list would be
cam cover and cam insert powder coated
Polk MM691 speakers (don't want door mounts so they're the best for the back imo)
decats
heatwrapped exhaust and mani
custom air intake to use cone filter (cold air feed from the front via a new vent)

I've selected a few select mods which I think are worth a mention:
Biggest mod and best bang for buck performance-wise:
- 3.91 differential ratio (improved ground covering ability and driveability in 5th gear as can now do 50mph comfortably in 5th)
Smallest 'vanity' mods and most appreciated every time I drive:
- Non-return valves in washer hoses to prevent dribbles on full bore acceleration
- Chrome stylee steering wheel screws (hate the std rusty looking ones)
- Small black 'separators' which come with Le Crueset pots. Slide one or two onto the underside of the rearmost sides of bonnet edge/lip to ensure the bonnet sits in place tightly
Those last three hardly cost anything :-)

This is the one I found on their site.
GV mentions fitting a pair to each line - is that necessary?

Mine are white, but these look to do the same job. You need one for each wiper - fit them where the hose goes under the scuttle panel near the wipers but under the cover of the bonnet. This is the one I found on their site.

Oh oh where from please?Diablos - I've had Nitrons, Stereo upgrade, exhaust upgrade - unfortunately I can't comment on the improvements these made as they were done prior to my stint.
I am fitting the aero wipers and new arms this weekend but tis a minor improvement.
I've fixed (and had painted, detailed etc) a fair few bits though
