Waxoyl

Hi All,

Was looking under the car the other day and whilst the chassis isteslf looks to be well coated and therefore totally rust free, the nut heads/bolts all had a nice colour orange rust coating over them.

I've just therefore wire brushed the rust off and then sprayed waxoyl over the bolt heads - was this the right thing to do?? What happens now?? The waxoyl was more 'mousse like' than I thought it would be. Does it set and go hard or will it stay wet and therefore just washoff when water hits it

Perhaps questions I should have asked before doing the job but..........

a anti rust paint(like red-oxide) helps but the wax should dry. Similer to melted candle wax drying. agood coat every year should be fine or 6months depending on use

Cheers - had a look under the car this morning and has gone like melted wax as you say. Was worried that I had clogged up the nuts!!!
