Diagnostic issues

Hi,

A little problem you may be able to help with.
Has anyone managed to get the SP^ diag software working with windows 7?

The software .exes are set to run in win 95/98 compatibilty mode also tried XP mode.

I have a usb>adapter which is working fine with no issues.
I have a proper diag lead which is connected to the 3 pin ecu socket.
I have the the com ports set correctly and the software acknowledges this, when it dosnt it tells you in a pop up window via the software.
I have the ignition on with immobiliser disabled and also running.

The software is the up to date version with the patched file.

So now the software is basically saying it cannot connect to the ECU.

I am thinking possible windows 7 problem, I shall dig out an old xp machine later but thought I would post this question as maybe I am missing something ?

Mine worked on VAIO laptop with Win 7 ultimate with no problems or change to settings. I was using a PCMCIA card for the connection though.
