If you're local to Austec and are considering places such as Castle then you should look closely at Str8Six too. I'm not sure if they are cheaper or not (service prices are on their website). However, in my experience there is rarely a straightforward TVR service and I'd rather the service team identified any issues and things that would need fixing in the near future. Saving £50 is a false economy anyway - you'll spend that on petrol driving from Maidstone to Castle.

Castles 12k is not the same as some of the others which is where the extra cost comes in. Ask if their 12k includes gearbox, diff and brake fluid change? Also tappets are extra as is geo checking. IIRC Castle do a 24k service which covers these items. They are OK (Joe is their service Manager)and have always done fine by me but I now use St8six who I feel are better (more personal and greater attention to detail)I paid £750 for a 12k from Str8six which covered everything including the adjustment (not just checking) of the tappets.

The 12k services are annoyingly expensive (relative to the price of the car), but it does seem that all the dealers charge much the same for a like-for-like product. £750 leaving the current account is never nice, even if you have budgeted for it, but it would seem you're going to have to cough up.

hed about it quite a lot on the forum, I was without car for 5 weeks, because of a steering rack problem. I feel a bit bad now because it has been running beautifully, but it should do after a £1200 bill for a 6k service plus issues (it would have been a lot more if it wasn't for warranty cover.....In retrospect I also booked it in during their workshop changeover, so that may account for the delay.

you might be able to find cheaper BUT with str8six you know they will do a proper job and wont charge for works that were a) not done or b) not required.imo its probably best to pay that bit more for peace of mind and to know that your car is being looked after by the best.
