Pesky badges!

Hi guys anyone aware of any impending orders for aftermarket badges at the moment as I need a rear TVR badge for my Sag and prefer the aftermarket jobbies over the 'consumable' TVR version?

I have one, The TVR one not the Sagaris one, I assume it's what you need. it has the tapped lugs on the back for threaded bar (incuded). Make me an offer I might sell?? it's never been fitted and in perfect condition.

You can strip the lating off the original badge and have them replated.
Finish on a refinished badge should last longer than the standard if properly done.

On the topic of badges, what are the best from experience to buy, I've replaced my original ones with new super duper but wont last for more than a couple of years without flaking aftermarket ones from a well known (top whack price) place. I've now 100% gold ones, without the black bits or lacquer The originals were faded and tarnished and pealing.

The ceramic is falling out of mine in places

Same problem here. Replaced the originals 2 years ago with supposedly 'better quality' ones that looked just the same as the originals... and the chrome is flaking again!

Are the metal ones, like the Tuscan has, any better? I've got one and considering smoothing out the bodywork and fitting that one as it seems much better quality.

Might not be helping here, but if they are metal embossed items, could you not sand down, spray matt black then sand off the embossed writing and clear lacquer?

I have some of the small union jack ones fitted to my car been on at least 2 years I think. I clear lacquered them all over *(3 coats) and they are still as good today as when I put them on. I also lacquered the metal boot release badge (have a brand new one as a spare too) this is still in very good condition although the lacquer could do with being re-done due to the amount of times it has been pressed. I suggest this is what you do in future.

Same here, what a waste of money they were
