FAO Track day people...T350 noise limit

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I've searched the web and can't seem to find an answer. I'm trying to find out how loud a standard T350 exhaust is. Has anyone had one tested?

Will it pass a 98dba static test at ¾ max revs ½ m & 45 degrees from the exhaust and 87.5 dba track side drive by?

Hopefully getting it tested at Goodwood once the Revival is out of the way. But the longer I leave it the less time I will have to get it silenced for an event I'm doing next month.

Mine's always near 100, never as low as 98. It is a Red Rose so I think it may not have an identical exhaust to yours but it is not a specially loud 'sports' exhaust. It has also got louder with (mega) mileage, I think, but even when it was new I never had 98. Goodwood are pretty stringent with their noise restrictions so getting it tested there is probably a good idea but remember not every track's dBmeter is the same and results can differ dramatically.

Goodwood are very strict with noise as their metres are linked with Town hall. My old Clio 182 got black flagged for drive by as induction was too loud....my T350 wouldnt have a chance!

But they show pictures of 288 GTOs going round the circuit. How the hell do they get though?

I believe they have a number of noisier days which includes fos and revival etc

They also run with trackday silencers.I live very close to Goodwood and very rarely can hear cars there.

I took the JP off mine because of this. My standard T now runs at warm idle at 78 dB at 1m as opposed to 97 which is about where my Elise was (98 dB at 5000 rpm at 1m) so I suspect it should be a bit liklier to pass track day tests like Silverstone now without aditional silencing

98 would put me right on the limit for the event I'm doing. Think trackday silencers are going to be needed.

Or you need the new specially developed track-day friendly sports exhaust system developed by JP that I have fitted on my T350. It comes in under the 98db noise limit.

The new full system (backbox and larger bore centre pipes) is now advertised on the ACT website but I could be tempted to part with mine if the price was right...

Problem I have is I want it loud for everyday, so will be fitting a decat and sports exhaust at some point.But for track I need something which will pass noise limits. Think I'm going to buy a couple of ACTs trackday silencers and bolt them on to the standard exhaust.Then keep hold of the standard exhaust for trackdays.

Beware Goodwood! They test between a couple of buildings! I was tested there at 105db, spent ages trying to get it down, got it to 103db. Drove home, money wasted, went to Brands and got tested, 98db.

Will be ordering some trackday silencers so i have them on standby if im over the limit.
