I guess the spin made him realise he didn't know the track after all - very cautious afterwards. You can't blame him if he was a newbie. Mind you I think I'd at least have kept up with the big 4WD thing

Edited to add: Just watched the '5th lap' video on Youtube and he's much better. Good to see someone improve!

Best way to do your first lap of the Ring is to follow a tall vehicle like a 4x4, you know you can out corner and brake but you get advance warning of all corners due being able to see the van roof.

First time I've seen someone lose it on that corner, it'skind of like stting yourself with excitement before you've got your pants down and sitting on the pan.

watched this and couldnt figure out how hed done it...he doesnt seem like a good driver but fair play to him for taking it round and having fun

Change down, no rev matching for the downshift, slight lock at the rear and round... Easy mistake to make, which is why heel and toe is a must IMHO for all rear wheel drive cars.

Good point, I find it harder on some cars to toe/heel than others...not tried it in the Tam. It seemed so slow and sudden.
