Just a heads up guys.

I popped into VW to get a new mirror glass as mine is starting to fail.

They have discontinued the glass in June this year so no more new ones are available unless a dealer has one in.

Off to the scrap yard then!

Cheers. Lee.

It came as a VW corrado replacement.

I had the same problem. My local dealer gave me a list of dealers which have stocked them in the past.I rang round all and no one had any.

I went on ebay and brought a set of brand new corrado mirrors, including glass for less than the mirror glass would of cost if it was still available. This seems like the only option if you want to keep the heated mirrors. Otherwise the only option will be stick on ones. Unless you want to pay the £90 some TVR specialists want for them.

Hopefully someone will start reproducing them at a decent price.

Were these cheap Halfords ones heated? The original ones are heated and as my car lives out side I would need the heated ones. The last time I bought a door mirror glass I got mine from a VW dealer so Lee's news is bad news if they are not selling them any more.

Like Kev, I wanted an original replacement to keep the heated function and not have a stick on one over the original.

Will do some research and see what I can come up with.

Cheers. Lee.

Get on ebay and find a corrado mirror with the glass intact. As far as I'm aware they were all electric and heated.Should be able to pick up a hole mirror unit for under £30.Then just pop the glass in yours.Plus ull have a spare mirror unit if someone ever damages yours.

I bought a cheap replacement glass from ebay, removed the old glass from my backing plate and stuck the new glass straight to the heating panel. Works a treat.

My stick-on mirror lasted about a year and then fell off. The heated glass underneath must have loosened the adhesive backing over time. I will put a few dabs of superglue on the next one. Glasses still available here

I've just replaced my drivers side with a fleabay special, as Lee says the Stealers don't stock them and have no intentions to.

Halfords could do a stick on replacement but that was on a two week back order and I wasn't willing to wait.

Anyway, the fleabay special arrived and TBH was of poor quality, the edges were not ground very well and the glass was thinner than the original.

I managed to remove the old mirror face by immersing in near boiling water, this softened the glue making it easy to separate the heating element and glass, however the new one as mentioned didn't fit the backing plate. In the end I ground the mirror to shape using a oil stone, good as new now, but not as easy as it could have been.

That's interesting that you was able to separate the heating element from the old glass, that's something I will keep in mind for next time,, thanks.

Are the mirrors the same for the Tamora as the T350?

The corroded bits ( the bottom 3mm of mirror ) stayed with the heating element, with no chance of removing it, the rest came away o.k.

When looking on e-bay and visiting Halfords, there appear to be Corrado mirror variations according to year.
Please advise which year of Corrado is the correct mirror for a T350 (2005)
