Removing Tamora door cards

Not had chance to get the car out of the garage and look into this so thought I'd ask first.

How are the door cards held inplace? are they easy to remove without damaging them? do the door cards come apart (handle swoop from rest of the card)

any advice or info appreciated.

3 bolts at the bottom of the card very easy.

excellent, couldn't see any at a glance. Does the card itself seperate without damage to the trim? handle/pocket come off.

Yes, remove the three 4mm (I think) allen bolts from bottom of door and pull the door card away. Just be careful if you have speakers in the front doors as there will ba a cable that needs disconnecting.


Its sometimes a tight fit so might need a little tug. The whole lot comes away in 1 piece you can see how its held together when the card is off the car.

Easy to get the bolts out but try getting the beggers back in! I dropped one inside the door! I can still hear it rolling about everytime I drive around a bend!

I had a similar thing when fitting a rear brace with nutserts...had to drill one out as it cross threaded. My solution was expanding foam filler spray to engulf the nutsert remnant and stop it rattling.

Either I'm blind or I'm missing something

I had a feel (not look the car is in the garage) under the door and round the card tonight and couldn't feel anything like bolts/fixings near the cards?

I took the centre tunnel off the car aswell, that was a pain in the arse!

Get on your back to see where they are, they are equally spaced on the bottom of the door. You may have the 3 clear plastic bungs in the holes that cover the bolts, when you take the bungs out throw them in the bin, they can trap the water in the door. The bolts are recessed inside the door.

Removing the tunnel is more easy with the roof off and the hand brake pulled on hard

Cheers Shep, piece of piss as you said. pop the three bungs out and remove the 3 4mm hex bolts from each door and simply wiggle them out.

Now my next question, do you know anyone who does leather retrims etc? I might get the cards redone.
