battery trickle charger for sagaris

my sag was delivered today could you tell me if i need a special trickle charger for my sag when it is tucked away in the garage or just any normal charger i.e from halfords or a motor factors of some sort probably a daft question but i dont want get the wrong one!!! but i assume if it is a standard 12 volt charger it will be fine?thanks guys.

I would plump for an Accumate, top piece of kit IMHO.

As above, just plug it straight into the ciggy lighter and leave. Job done.
You will probably be spending tonight in the garage, just looking at the car, pinching yourself to make sure it is all real, don`t worry, we have all been there. In fact still do it after 2 years of ownership

Happy Days to you Sean, I purchased my battery conditioner from Leven matey. Garage has been swept, mopped and even heater installed all ready for the beast 2moro.

thanks guys still keep pinching myself to see if its a dream!!!! back to the car charger surely it cant charge the battery through the car cig lighter socket? i thought it would have to be run of the mains? thanks again for your help

Yes, you run it off the mains. But the power goes >into< the car through the cigarette lighter socket.

Hi Ihave used a CTEK charger for sometime now and its the best unit I have had small compact and it can be left on for months and it wont harm your battery good gear 12 volt trickle charge and conditioner

Congrats on the purchase.

Re trickle charger, I use a Oxford Oximiser 600 (model number is OF950) cost me £30, it can charge the battery from nothing and safeguards the battery when full by auto switching to trickle mode. Plugs into charging port in passenger footwell, so far, so good.

Just to say congrads and welcome to the Sag club!

I use an Accumate on mine and works a treat. Plug it in and mostly forget it for the winter period.

I would additionally suggest leaving a moisture absorber in the footwell as well. They usually last for 3 months between refills and are an excellent idea in winter. You will be surprised at how much water they absorb!

thanks guys i have gone for an accumate seems to be the one most of you say is good hopefully weather will be better on the weekend so i can take her for a drive!!!
