How's the harness bar mounted? The other thread was saying earlier the cage isn't bolted to the chassis at the back.

They do suit the 350...do you think buckets would suit the Tam though? it's not as track slag as the 350. I have a new pair of Cobra Suzuka S seats sat in the back bedroom and I was thinking.....

Seats are only held in place by 4 bolts through the chassis, remove them and the seat belt mount from the side of the seat and then you can put the Cobra in to see how it looks.Be careful though as a lot of seats are too wide for the space available also check that the seats arent higher,I have the Sparcos that were to be installed in the next generation of Sags and Tuscans (no longer available) and they sit you noticably higher in the car, not a problem for me as I am not that tall but could be to some people.

good point. I am planning to take the seats out at some point to get the backs either off or repaired so that'll be the best time. I'll post some pics for anyone else thinking of putting buckets in the Tamora.

How are these (or similar) for doing long distances?

I fitted Cobra seats into my previous T350c. Very light and very snug. Do make sure that you and your passenger can fit in them. They are bolted to the floor so do not adjust once in the car.

In the next week or so I'll get the seats out (pita) and drop the Suzuka's in there with a few photos.

Have done over 6000 miles on continental trips in 2010 with this seat fitted. The combination of this and 4-point harness makes for a very secure driving experience.

Unless you have an oversize a**e yes. Re the harness bar mount it uses the same mounting points as the original seatbelts.

Do you have to get brackets made up for them to fit to the TVR and do they still track or is it now in a fixed position?
Thanks

Hi,

I have Cobra Imola S seats (carbon shell) in my Tam-not cheap but a good upgrade and very light.
Fixed position and have to watch out for the rear panel tensioning struts with rood down when deciding on the installion position.
I am 5ft10in and 11 stone and they are a nice fit.
Very comfortable on long journies too.

I had some Imola S in carbon but sold them a while back (kept the Profi 3 harness though). I got the seats out at the weekend using an angle grinder from the bottom.

Sadly my Suzuka Cobra's are too wide, they foul on the door card drivers side and door top passenger side!

Sorry to hear your Suzuka's won't fit, but not surprised.

When Cobra installed my Imola's, over a few days, they did have to cut back and re-trim the front corner a fair bit (transmission tunnel side) and make up special mounts to keep the seat low. They have kept the info and have supplied a number of others to T-chassis cars, but still a very tight fit to get installed.

Worth it as really hold you in well at shoulders and still comfy for long trips - after an extra foam pad underneath if you have a skinny bum like me. smile

Yep, it was thanks to tail slide acting as guinea pig for Cobra that we can now fit these seats. Huge difference in support compared to Tuscan/T350/Sagaris/Tamora type seats. Expensive but well worth it IMHO plus the added bonus of a substantial weight saving.
