T350c 166mph Vmax200

Heres a quick vid that me and Max M4X WW put together of my T350c at VMAX200. Theres a few launches, 2 high speed runs and some corners. The second of the 2 runs is my 166mph run, which as you can see i only just manage to stop.

Your amber shift light comes on very early?? Mine doesnt seem to come on until right on the limit

That´s because you can adjust them in the menu.

The GTRs were getting off the line very quick on the day. With all the computing power they can really use the power even in the wet. Conditions were not ideal. Full throttle launching was a no no and the first bend had to be taken with care as it was so slippy. I could only properly get my toe down once on the main straight. Brilliant day out though and doing 160+mph in the fog is definitely an experience.

Nice video. Bit slippy to get the power down off the line ... the rear engined cars seemed less worried.

What's with the wiper park position and did the dog eat your glovebox lid?

I think the main advantage that a lot of the cars that day had was traction control. I need to adjust the wiper park position. Has been high since I had the car. The glove box has been snapped, and is on my list of things to fix.

Ahem ! - he was talking about the Nissan GT-R not the porker GT3. Most SP6 TVR's would give a GT3 a run for it's money - what happened to your launch aginst the GT3 ?

Ahem?, I have the GT3 on vid and the OP was sat next to me. The vid shows how bad the traction was off the line and around the corner especially as I had 888's on. Had the same thing against the GTR with it pulling away at the start and the corner but came through the line in front.

without meaning to be rude, i was a bit dissapointed with the t350, i thought it would have been a bit better, although i understand conditions wer'nt good, making me wonder if it needs that engine upgrade to compete.

Even with the conditions being as bad as they were are I still clocked the highest speed they have seen at Vmax in a standard T350 (from results shown on the Vmax site). Not bad considering its 03 car with its original engine, not rebuild and showing 43K on the clock. You need to remember that 350bhp will not see much more top end at Brunters with standard gearing. With a longer runway high speeds could be achieved as it was still pulling nicely at the beams.

I didn't full throttle launch all day as traction wasn't the best, and Vmax is about top speed, not who gets to the corner first. On a dryer day I would be more keen to launch hard and have abit of fun in the corners. Hopefully it will be dryer next time round and I can have a go at keeping up of the line.

Mine managed 157 at vmax IV with the previous owner and I believe that was pre the 4ltr.

I would be too, going by TVR's optimistic figures I wouldn't think it would get anywhere near 166 especially in those conditions.

griffs get to about 160 and i'd imagine a t350 is a lot more slippery

I drove to the conditions braking / lifting before the end of the straight. The vbox confirmed 188 as well but I know it will go through 200. From what I know Craig is ordering good weather for the next one, I hope he lets me have another go.

166 mph in an '03 350 bhp is great by any measure, especially on a slippery track.

Knowing when to quite is the key. 200 mile drive there, plenty of fun, then a 200 mile drive home. Didnt miss a beat. Hoping i will be able to come to the next one. Really enjoyed the day.

I would say that the T350 would be capable of the quoted >175mph top speed with a long enough road. It was still pulling at 166, although felt very switchy. Brunters isnt the smoothest of surfaces.

I think i need to sort out my brakes before the next one. Any faster and i wont be able to stop in time with my current brakes. What discs/pads are you running on the Sag?

Always got to expect a few negative comments. I was more than happy with my figures for the day. I went with a target of 160, so i did better than expected. Most people dont realise that there is one thing getting to 160 with a open road in front of you. But doing it within the confines of Brunters is a very different story. 1.6ish miles to the beams, then you have 0.4ish miles to stop.
