Low Profile Jack

I'm looking for a good but reasonably priced jack, for occasional basic work on my Tamora.

I've seen this low profile one on ebay:

Any comments on whether this would be any good, or what else to look at?

Looks OK but I prefere the offering from Clarke. Whilst a little less rated for weight (1.25T) its still more than sufficient for a Tamora (I use one). It also has a larger flat lifting pad compared to the one you suggest. Price is very similar and can also be found on flee bay.

There have been several posts on this before I think there are even cheaper options out there it all depends on brand and quality.

Beware with the clarke one as it falls to bits on you, I have one and would recommend threadlocking the bolts in place.

Costco do an Arcan one that might be of interest, it's about £60 IIRC.

Save your money!

Go to your local timber merchants and get a couple of 6 x 2" off cuts (like the stuff used for decking joists) about 500mm long.

Drive onto the wood and use a normal trolley jack. Sorted!

Costco one looks good, but I haven't got a Costco account and am not a Business.

I like Lee's wood suggestion too - but thought I would treat my car to a nice jack for xmas.

Any other suggestions?

I bought a cheap and nasty from Halfords, it's plenty good enough for taking wheels off but anything else may require something more substantial.

I had one of the aluminium 1 1/4 tons but the seal went just outside the warranty!

So I've now got one of these
