Big up for MSM insurance

The usual panic time of year, my Tam insurance needed renewing and after running the normal gambit of calls and filling in my details 15 times!!! The best in terms of price and a real live person to talk to was MSM. It was better by a considerable margin . Im 53 have 3 other cars to use and keep my Tam in a carpeted heated garage ( I know sad !) and have 10 years protected no claims .

They did come back quickly to me on a request for a quote for the Griff but I really wanted agreed value and they can't offer that on anything unless it is over 15 years old so not much use. They certainly tried to help though.

They were excellent for me too especially considering I had only had my license a year and honoured my 1 NCB even though I was an additional driver on that policy!

It was cheaper for mr to insure the T350 in my own name than my previous car, Focus RS, as a named driver with Admiral.

I dont have a policy with MSM but my friend who builds and runs kit cars recommended them to me.

At the moment I'm with Lancaster just turned 25 (8 years ncb with my corsa but not carried onto Taimar) so effectivly no ncb for £254 a year, which I'm happy with

Yep, MSM get my vote too. Similar situation/age to the OP (sadly without a heater and carpet in the garage) and they gave me by far the best quote on unlimited mileage for my '06 Tamora. And a nice friendly service too.

I'm intrigued, how could you be a named driver on your previous car?

My previous car being an Astra SRI.

I was a tad taughty, and done what you call fronting.

In my defence though I didn't realise it was illegal until I came to renewal and asked a few questions on here and got put in my place

The engine seized on the astra within 9 months of ownership so scrapped it and bought the RS on the same policy.

Come renewal time I just turned 25 so was eligible to get insurance on a TVR... Happy days.

Yes yes I know, slap on the wrist and all that.

It probably saved my over a grand on my premiums though. Under every cloud and all that....

You could have saved even more by not paying any premium and been uninsured either way

Well like I said I didn't know. It was my first car and first time buying insurance.

I'm all ligit with MSM and that's all that matters right now.

Lesson learnt though.
