225/40's on front 18" spiders anyone?

Hi All

I am looking to change my tyres early in the new year and like the Toyo R1R's.

Rears are available but the issue is they don't do 225/35's so was wondering if anyone had fitted 225/40's on the front spiders?

On my Tuscan I use 235 40 18 front and 255 35 18 rear. I was advised not to use 225 on the front.

Only with 888s which have quite a square shoulder but tended to foul under hard braking even with pretty firm suspension. Have since raised ride height slightly and no probs

+1. Optimum sizes there. You can also go 255/35/18 on the front as per the Tuscan S.

225/35/18's are a bad size and will make the steering even twitchier.

Factory fit on the T350 is 225x35x18. This is not a Tuscan.

To clarify this is for a T350 hence why I placed the question in the T350 forum. Could we keep it to the T350 please so I don't have to read loads of conflicting info?

Got them fitted on mine

I had to raise the ride height and also replace the panel in the wheel arch which covers the back of the headlights for a more flatter panel as the tyres rubbed on turning.

But worth it as the tyres are excellent.

Depending on the tolerances when yours was build , then I'd say its far more likely it will rub with the 225x40x18s on the front than not. Likeley spots are front arch under light access panel towards and including the arch edge, raising may lead to extra interference on droop as the arch curves back a touch towards the wheel. And the upper inner arch rubbing under full compression/braking/bumps... IT seems like such a good idea but it can run into sooo many issues .
It will also affect the way it feels, probably softening the front end turn in and maybe even making it feel a little understeery..
