I just replaced mine after buying one cheap on Ebay...the panel itself just doesn't get the right contrast so is hardly visible frown Anyone selling one or can get one cheapish? £200+ is a piss take from the various dealers as the panel itself is only about £60 from past memory.

Been trying to track one down for a couple of months now, sent a few emails off to some LCD suppliers and none of them appear to be able to get hold of the same ones, down to my last one nowfrown I don't know where these guys that are charging a couple of hundred quid are getting them from but I agree it's a rip off for something that's Just going to go again!

Pissed off the one I bought has knackered brightness/contrast frown

I will keep trying and let you know. If I find someone selling them maybe a group buy is in order, I'd buy 2-3 for myself as it is!

Thanks for that but I've got all the part numbers etc, its finding a company that can still get the LCD's, I must admit I haven't bothered contacting CM becuase I just assumed she wouldn't want to let me know where she is getting them from as its good business for her.

You have tried to adjust the contrast/brightness setting? You can alter this in the menu and there is a default after you have had it unplugged that needs re-setting/adjusting to how you like it, both with the light off/side/dip beam.

Hi Shep,

Yeah I found the brightness/contrast (under 'normal') and adjusted the contrast to 100% and brightness around 90% but no matter what percentages I go for it's just barely visible.

Well Farnell have discontinued them in 2010 and have no stock, so that's one down.

Could anyone tell me if the Tuscan 2 LCD panel will fit and work well in the Tamora? is there something about viewing angle??

Did you also alter the 'dials' settings as this changes the brigtness too. A couple of the lines have gone on my display so I need a replacement. I was lucky I managed to get a complete clock pack with an LCD in full working order for £30!! I would get a couple of spares to repair the faulty one and a back up if there is a grop deal on the horizon.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the dials relates to the LEDs around the rim? not the LCD panel? I wonder if the part I bought has a different viewing angle.

How would you repair a faulty one with dead lines also? my dead one is now sat in the bin as it had about 6 dead lines.

Varitronix told me they actually stopped making them a couple of years ago, I've asked (and asked and asked) to see if they replaced the model number with something else but they haven't come back, I'm now emailing people in the states, next stop Hong Kongsmile

It's another one of those parts that you just can't get...and paying through the nose just adds to the sting of it. Let's see what the other 2 say.

I think you might be right. I remember having to fiddle with mine as the display was very dim after having the clocks out. I guess when they have lines on them they are knackered although mine seems to be OK when its warm.

I think the cold was one of the main reasons for them cocking up, doesn't appear to do them any good at all plus they shouldn't have been used in cars in the first placesmile

I agree they are not sealed units and I wonder what would happen urgency were heated up slightly msybe using some silica gel to keep them dry. Mine was ok then the cold damp weather came and you can't read them. It is an intermittant fault and mine gets better the more it is used.

Anyone know if the Tuscan 2 LCD will work on the Tam/350?
